TIMBER HOUSE

This large foothills home sits on an elevated point overlooking both the city of Denver and the snow-capped peaks to the southwest. In an effort to reduce the visual scale of the residence the plan is subdivided into four smaller volumes. The entire structure is framed with a glu-lam post and beam system. Clear fir ceilings, recycled wood floors and an extensive use of stone both inside and out add to the sense of a contemporary mountain lodge built to last for generations.
